How to Apply and Get Business Credit Cards with EIN Only

We checked out a number of business credit cards with EIN only, and did the research for you. So here are our top picks.

Cards for EIN (employer identification number) only most likely will not report to the personal credit bureaus. This is because the card issuer should only be using your Social Security Number for identification purposes and not to check a personal credit score.

Benefits vary. So, make sure to choose the benefit you would prefer from this array of alternatives.

1. The FairFigure Capital Card

The FairFigure Capital Card is a business credit builder card that also comes with a real line of credit. That’s right – it’s an EIN-only, no personal credit check card that you gets you funding, too.

Which is why we included it first on this list. You don’t have to have any business credit, and you can qualify. The credit line is based solely on your business’s revenue. If you don’t have enough, you’ll qualify once you hit $2,500 per month in recurring revenue.

For those looking to build business credit, consider that the card reports payments to Equifax Commercial, Creditsafe, and the SBFE – but not to the personal credit bureaus. (Remember that the SBFE reports payments to other business credit bureaus, including Dun & Bradstreet and Experian Business.)

What’s the catch? There are no security deposits or annual fees, but the card does require a $30 per month fee. This also gives you access to their business credit monitoring service, whose payments also get reported to the business credit bureaus. So this one card gives you two business credit tradelines to build your business credit score and carefully monitor it.

The other catch is that the card’s financing terms are short-term: either 4- or 8-week payback plans. The flip side is that you won’t get into big debt traps like you can with a normal credit card.

2. Rho Corporate Card

The Rho Card is an EIN-only corporate charge card for business owners in need of funding. It’s part of the broader Rho financial product ecosystem, which offers checking and savings accounts, expense management solutions, and more.

Being a corporate charge card, the Rho corporate card offers no annual fee and no APR. Unlike some other corporate cards, you can typically expect to incur a 3% fee on any delinquent balance for up to six months.

They also offer a scalable credit limit that changes with your needs. This will be crucial as you’ll need a higher credit limit when your business grows.

The Rho corporate card offers benefits like 1.25% cash back on eligible purchases, no personal guarantee (and no impact on your personal credit score), and the ability to assign unlimited numbers of virtual cards to employees in your organization.

These are accompanied by the numerous features associated with your card account. Rho makes it simpler to track advertising spend, manage client budgets, control who has access to the corporate card accounts, and beyond.

Their eligibility standards are fairly relaxed. They approve businesses from the average small business owner to middle-market businesses. They also boast no minimum annual revenue requirements.

However, they will not offer services to sole proprietorships or unincorporated businesses.

There’s no word on if or which business credit bureau they report to, if any. Keep this in mind if you’re using cards to boost your business credit scores.

3. Stripe Corporate Card

The Stripe Corporate Card is an invitation-only card offered to existing Stripe users.

The Stripe Corporate Card is reported as offering cash back. However, Stripe doesn’t explicitly state how much you could earn on their card FAQs page. Some sources state that cash-back rewards range from 1.5% to 2%.

Verifiable rewards include the Stripe Partner Rewards. Stripe partners with numerous vendors to reward businesses who use their cards.

Examples include up to six months free for Zendesk, a $500 credit after $500 spend for Google Ads, and 50% cash back up to $5,000 for Notion.

Stripe states that their corporate card is entirely free to use. This means a $0 annual fee and 0% APR. It also means that you won’t see foreign transaction fees, late payment fees, and card replacement or additional card fees.

This is all alongside preserving your personal credit score and getting accepted with bad credit, as well as using EIN only.

Because this is reportedly in beta and is an invitation-only card, there’s no telling what eligibility requirements there are to qualify beyond being a Stripe user.

Additional information about the card, its credit limit, and its perks is scant due to no dedicated product page on Stripe’s website.

Keep in mind that this is not the same as the solution offered for businesses who want to be a card issuer. Stripe Issuing is a solution designed for business credit card issuers (BaaS, Fintech, other card issuers who are not a credit card company).

Those terms only apply to the customers of card issuers, not Stripe users.

4. Brex Corporate Card

The Brex corporate card is one of the more robust EIN-only corporate charge cards on the market.

As with Rho, Brex’s corporate card is a part of their broader financial ecosystem. Brex users enjoy expense management features, automated accounting, and customized limits and card controls when they use the Brex card and Brex solutions.

Brex offers 0% APR and has no annual fee. They offer up to 7x cash back. However, it’s important to note that cash-back benefits depend on the spending category. In reality, their cash-back rewards include the following:

  • 7x cash back on rideshare.
  • 4x cash back on Brex travel.
  • 3x cash back on restaurants.
  • 2x cash back on software.
  • 1x cash back on other eligible net purchases.

They offer additional partner rewards as well. Brex cardholders can earn $5,000 in AWS credits and 3% cash back at Apple, for example.

Brex reports to Dun & Bradstreet, Experian Business, and Equifax Business to boost your business credit score and help you establish business credit history. However, qualifying for the Brex card can be challenging.

You need at least $50,000 in your bank account if your business is funded by professional investors. If you are self-funded, you need at least $1 million.

You can qualify with less and get a credit limit based on your financial health. However, you will then have to settle for daily repayment terms instead of monthly repayments.

You could also consider a startup business loan, a secured business credit card, or other options on this list if you don’t qualify.

The Perfect Business Credit Cards with EIN Only for You

So you can get business credit cards with EIN only, but it will hinge on your credit history and scores. You should try to avoid a personal guarantee unless you will get a significant benefit from offering one.

But other than that, try not to volunteer a personal guarantee.

Only you can select which features you want and need in corporate credit cards. So make sure to do your homework. The best credit card for you and your credit history might not work for others.

Business cards can be very helpful for getting a small business loan or a business line of credit, so they are definitely worth your time.

And, as always, make certain to build credit in the recommended order for the best, fastest benefits.
